A beach day in winter

Living in durban definitely has its perks! We get 28 degrees in mid winter days.

Yesterday we decided to pack our picnic basket and head North. I’ve been moaning at Ryan saying that we don’t go on enough adventures, I’m a true Taurean ( get bored easily ) so we loaded the car with boards, swimwear and of course Aron’s toys. It was a magical day, ‘there’s no way this could be winter’ I said to myself . Cape Town this time of year, I’m use to sitting at my fire place with soup and a few blankets.

We went straight to Thompsons pool,  it’s by far my favourite beach in the country. It’s small and private, and it’s got a huge tidal pool, beautiful caves, and a few hidden beaches as you walk through the cave’s. Aron was in his element, he’s a real water baby, and the water was so warm.  I took no picture’s – we were having too much fun chasing the crabs on the beach.

We then decided to go to ‘Sage’ in salt rock for lunch, I just love this restaurant, they have a awesome play area for kid’s – I actually think the restaurant was made with only kids in mind ha ha. They have a big trampoline, sand pit ( Aron’s favourite) and even a zip line. Aron just loved watching all the bigger kids run around.

He also has this new obsession with balloons, he saw a girl with a balloon and went crazy for it, Ryan had to go look for a balloon for him, but turns out the restaurant had none- this was a tough one, and we had to get his attention on something els. Also to top that off, Aron decides to make a big poo, and I somehow managed to only pack one extra nappy?!?! ( I blame it on Ryan, he always rushes me ) so we ended up buying these really cheap and not to mention 2 sizes too small nappies. Well they did the job for a few extra hours.

Aron had no care in the world, he absolutely loved every second of his adventure.

Getting back to Sage – they have this beautiful shop selling plants and clothing, actually a great little shop if you’re

looking for a gift for someone. I bought these beautiful upside down hanging Ferns, I’m planning on filling up my kitchen with them.

I could have spent an extra hour just walking around, but A was so tired. He passed out on the way home on my chest.

Best day ever x
